Newseum launches campaign against threats to journalists

The Newseum in Washington D.C, the biggest news museum has announced that, no newspapers will be displayed in the Today’s Front Pages exhibit outside the building on Pennsylvania Avenue, inside the Newseum or online at newseum.org,  on Monday, June 6.  In their place will be blacked-out pages featuring the hashtag #WithoutNews, part of a campaign to raise awareness of the threats to journalists around the world. The blacked-out “front pages” will be on display until the following morning.

Newseum has appealed to 1200 news organizations around the world, approximately 1,200 newspapers that regularly submits its front page to the Newseum,  for participation in this #WithoutNews campaign.  They are making available a series of print and digital ads in a variety of sizes for download and publishing. Newseum will publish the June 6 front page on June 7.
Mathrubhumi is the only Malayalam newspaper that has it’s front page every day on Newseum.
